Te Ahu a Turanga – Manawatū Walk

3 May, 2026

A fantastic day was enjoyed by everyone: Completing various sections of the Te Ahu a Turanga and Manawatū gorge walks.  We left Havelock North at 7.00am.  The day began with a cold morning, however the weather soon turned into a beautiful, clear and warm day, making perfect conditions for walking and enjoying the scenery.

Paula, Sean, Judith and Jude completed the Te Ahu a Turanga Manawatū Walk, which took around three hours. The walk provided absolutely fantastic views and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Steve, Anne, Lou and Dave explored the western wetlands and loop track and reported that it was extremely interesting with plenty to see along the way.

Selina, Christine Lawrence, Christine Briasco and Peter completed the Te Āpiti Manawatū Gorge Walk and also had a wonderful experience.

Overall, everyone had a fantastic time, enjoying both the excellent weather and the stunning scenery across the different walks.
